Well the past couple of weeks have been really busy as I've been helping my husband get his first children's book released for the Kindle...or in other words I haven't been able to get a look in on the laptop, haha!!
So since I haven't had time for anything else I thought I'd share the book with you so I can get the vision of tumble weed blowing aimlessly through my blog out of my head, lol :)
I know I'm biased but I think it's a great story (and others think so too, which is always nice to hear!). My husband wrote it for our four older children aged from 6-11 years...they really enjoyed the adventure, and the humorous bits had one of my daughters in a giggling fit.
Sorry, but my time is up for now....wow, that went quick! Hopefully I will be able to get some more time on the laptop soon!!

I'm three weeks into a dressmaking course, and I'm loving it. I'm learning so much and it's already teaching me how to control my machine better....as all I used to do was straight lines and full steam ahead, lol!!
Anyway, in our first lesson our teacher handed out a driving test for our sewing machine, we didn't use thread and had to manoeuvre our needle round sharp corners, curves and wiggles...we were allowed 3 mistakes and surprising I only made one, so I passed first time!! Below is one that is similar to the one I did in class. I might let my girls have a go at this too, so that they get use to the feel of my sewing machine before I let them loose on it :)

Our teacher then suggested that we make a stitch book for our machine, so that we could see what they look like on fabric and be able to choose the right stitch for the job in hand. Up till now I've just stuck to the same old stitch for everything, so I felt like a bit of a dare devil trying out the new stitches, haha!! As I did each one, I referenced the stitch with the number on my machine.
I will let you know of anything else I learn in class that might help a newbie like me :)
I'm so glad that I stumbled upon this film 12 years ago in Blockbusters, it was the only one left on the shelf and I had never heard of it before...but all the other films I had already seen, or wasn't interested in, so 'Tuesdays With Morrie' was hesitantly rented and taken home. I watched it, loved it, bought it, even bought the book.....which is a rare occurrence for me!! It was really inspiring, and I know it sounds cheesy but it has a place in my heart.....especially as it started my love of true story films, that has then gone on to inspire me, my husband (who was a bit reluctant as first), and now my family....maybe at a later date I'll do a post of similar films that are my favs??!!?
So what's so good about 'Tuesdays with Morrie???' Well, at that time in my life it helped me put my life in perspective and made me realise how I could be the one to make a difference in someone's life....now, you might watch it and get a totally different thing, haha!!
Anyway, I thought I'd share some excerpts from the book (and film??).....who knows it might cause a ripple effect, yikes!!
I drafted this post a couple of weeks before my husband's grandad died of cancer, and these words really touched members of his family.
